Good, simple-to-use app
First things first: I got this app to use with scanned family research documents rather than photographs. I have been using my Canon scanner to capture family documents that are larger than the scanner’s bed, so I have been making multiple scans of different parts of each page and then using Canon’s Photostitch utility to put them together in a seamless document. This worked for many of the scans, but for others I could not get their software to work properly.
Out of frustration I looked for another app that might work better and found Photostitcher. At $.99 I thought what could I possibly lose to give it a try. And it worked flawlessly. Another reviewer complained about having to import one photo at a time instead of batching them for a single group add. While I can see this would help other users, and myself as well, I wasn’t overly inconvenienced by it. I didn’t have any problem with the program freezing at all. Frankly, I found Photostitcher to be much simpler and more effective than Canon’s program, although the latter has a few more bells and whistles in terms of manipulating the images. I’m glad I found this app. I intend to make a lot of use of it.
If I could make one suggestion…I would like to be able to rotate each image as necessary. I can do that after I merge and save the document, but it would be great if it could be doen within the app itself.
